College of Design Undergraduate

Professional Development Funding

What is professional development funding?

The College of Design offers funding for undergraduate students to attend a meeting, function, seminar, conference or event related to their major.  Students may also use these funds to pay for professional or student membership fees to enhance their professional development.

Students need to submit an application form to their director of undergraduate studies/program chair in order to obtain funding.  If approved, students will be reimbursed for the amount approved by your director of undergraduate studies/program chair.  Payment will be made only after expenses have been incurred.

Past examples include:

  • U of M Etiquette Dinner registration fee
  • Fashion Group International's Career Day registration fee
  • AIA Tomorrow Conference registration fee
  • AIGA Portfolio One-on-One event registration fee
  • AIAS Midwest Quad conference in Champaign, Illinois - travel cost assistance
